Understanding the RTM Protocol: A Special NLPAA Member Event

The NLP Association of Australia is proud to present a 90-minute member-exclusive event featuring Robin Hampton, Director of Education and Training at the RTM Protocol. This session will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the history, evolution, and profound effectiveness of the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) Protocol—an innovative, evidence-based intervention grounded in the NLP technique Visual-Kinesthetic Dissociation process.

Originally developed as part of the NLP Research and Recognition Project, the RTM Protocol has rapidly emerged as one of the most effective non-traumatizing treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Spearheaded by NLP Master Practitioner Dr. Frank Bourke, with key contributions from renowned NLP experts Tim Hallbom and the late Steve Andreas, RTM was first applied in clinical settings to support Vietnam veterans and first responders affected by the events of 9/11.

What began as a focused research project has evolved into an international movement to provide fast, reliable, and accessible trauma relief without requiring clients to relive the traumatic event. With peer-reviewed studies reporting success rates above 90% for eliminating PTSD symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts, the RTM Protocol is gaining global attention and credibility, including within U.S. veteran hospitals, mental health institutions, and academic research circles.

During this educational event, Robin Hampton will guide attendees through an overview of the RTM Protocol’s development, the science behind its success, and the ongoing research that supports its use. Participants will also gain insights into how this NLP-based approach is being integrated into mainstream clinical practice, and learn about ways they can engage further—either through training, advocacy, or research support.

All registration fees for this NLPAA event will be donated directly to support the continued work and expansion of the RTM Protocol and its associated research initiatives.

Whether you're a practicing NLP professional, therapist, coach, or someone passionate about mental health innovation, this session is a chance to connect with a globally significant movement that originated in the NLP community and is now helping transform the field of trauma treatment.
